POSITION DETAILSPosition SummaryThe Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement process to ensure materials meet specifications from approved suppliers. They are accountable for timely and cost-effective procurement and support sourcing efforts and supplier development. Additionally, they lead and manage the Purchasing Team, leveraging strong Excel skills.Principal Activities Ensure timely placement and management of purchase orders to maintain service levels. Achieve targets for supplier on time delivery, purchase price variance (PPV), and inventory turns. Lead supplier development initiatives. Support customer proposals and negotiate component procurement. Ensure adequacy of purchasing specifications Negotiate major purchases and contracts, including blanket agreements. Assess and mitigate supply chain risks. Evaluate cost and quality of materials, equipment, products, or services. Participate in make-or-buy decisions. Maintain knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Travel is required as needed. Develop data models for predictive analysis. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient in supply chain, applicable laws and regulations, administration, mathematics, economics, and accounting. Strong negotiation, persuasion, and supervisory skills. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and presentation skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Access and other MS Office applications. Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience; MBA preferred. APICS and/or other industry-related certification is preferred. Experience in casting procurement and international supply chain development preferred. Other:

$98K - $122K annually.
