(KCA) is a leading manufacturer of process gas compressors.
We offer three (3) types of compressors:
screw, reciprocating and centrifugal.
Kobelco compressors can comply with heavy-duty process gas service requirements (API Standards).
With expertise in all compressor technologies, KCA can recommend and engineer the optimal process gas compressor for our client's specific application.
Position
Summary:
The Project Buyer is responsible for the procurement of project equipment and materials, preparing RFQ documents, receiving vendor quotations, negotiating pricing/delivery with suppliers and placing orders based on assigned budgets after approval of Senior Buyer or Manager for compressor packages.
Essential Position Functions and Duties:
Prepare and distribute requests for quotes Receive and analyze bids, quotes, and proposals while ensuring they meet project budgets.
Source competitive material and service suppliers to continuously challenge KCA's AVL.
Evaluate potential delivery costs for total delivered cost consideration when selecting vendors.
Create accurate new purchase orders for job material, according to specifics of the submitted purchase requisitions with vendors on KCA's AVL.
Ensure all appropriate technical or sales related documentation is compiled with the PO submission to vendor.
Manage open POs through delivery date updates, cost change control, negotiation with vendors, and order cancellations as required.
Communicate potential or imminent and actual impacts to production scheduling.
Identify and select best means of delivery for cost and timeliness consideration.
Review purchase requisitions for accuracy, pricing, and delivery, confirming the supplier is on the Approved Vendor List and the appropriate approvals are obtained.
Notify vendors of non-conforming deliveries and request or negotiate correction.
Participate in non-conformance (DMR) processes with vendor, quality, S&R, and others as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the following fields:
Engineering, Sciences, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or comparable work experience.
Two to Four years of global project procurement management experience, preferably in compressorsapplication for oil and gas projects.
Certification in Project Management and Supply Chain Management a plus.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Project management skills Strong decision making, organization, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
Understanding of practice of 5S.
Ability to utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
Must be organized and punctual.
Utilize company equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner.
Compliant with all company rules and regulations.
Goal oriented with career expectations.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This job occasionally moves around inside the production shop floor; moving around in outside conditions that may include, but not limited to inclement weather, noise, dust, smoke, heat, hot and cold temperatures.
Noise level may exceed 85 decibels on occasion in the main shop.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position (75% of the time).
Must be able to frequently move around inside office to access file cabinets, printers, etc.
Must be able to accurately detect, identify, communicate and discuss.
Frequently positions and/or moves light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 25 pounds.
Routinely operates office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
Additional Notes:
May be required to travel periodically.
Own reliable transportation.
Have a current valid California driver's license.
Bilingual or Multilingual Preferred but not required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
