Laboratory Assistant/Shipping & Receiving clerk Job Description The candidate will be required to perform various tasks to support the scientists and researchers in laboratory testing.
The candidate will be responsible for regular maintenance, calibration, and proper cleaning of equipment and laboratory surfaces.
The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience and understand the maintenance of good laboratory practices and quality standards.
The candidate will be provided proper training in aseptic gowning procedures for work in a cleanroom.
The candidate will be responsible for proper labeling of chemicals, chemical inventories, and maintenance of logs as required for proper laboratory practices.
This position will also encompass the responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Clerk, including shipping of biological goods and receiving of supplies in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
Main Functions(this is not an all-inclusive list of tasks) Assist scientists and support in research needs Stock and maintain all areas of the laboratory and cleanroom Clean and maintain all laboratory equipment Properly maintain laboratory logs, including temperature, cleaning, and maintenance logs Understand and demonstrate the proper aseptic gowning procedure for cleanroom Ensure good laboratory practices and quality standards are being upheld Ship and receive all goods to and from the facility Communicate with shipping providers worldwide Maintain shipping and receiving logs for all products Ensure material and supplier qualifications are met Position Requirements Formal education in basic science, such as an Associate's or Bachelor's degree Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) Can work independently or in a team setting Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications Meticulous attention to detail and well organized Physical Demands:
