Senior Manager Software Engineering

L3Harris is looking for candidates for the Senior Software Engineering Center Manager, who is responsible for the overall functional management and engineering technical expertise for the Software Engineering Organization in our Navigation Solutions (NS) business in Anaheim, CA (IEC).
This position reports to the Director of Engineering for NS and has direct reports of Functional Managers and Subject Matter Experts.
Candidate will oversee all Software Engineering staff, direction, proposals, and bids.
The candidate will provide hands-on software technical expertise on NS programs while delegating when appropriate.
The candidate must have both functional management experience and Software Engineering technical and leadership expertise preferably with experience in military GPS and Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) technology.
Navigation Solutions products provide advanced military GPS and Position, Navigation, Timing (PNT) capabilities in military embedded real-time systems that can be used in weapons, ground, airborne, maritime, and space environments.
Essential Functions:
Provides overall technical expertise and guidance in Software Engineering for NS programs.
Hands-on expert Software Engineering tasking on programs.
Ensures a cohesive team and trust within the Software Engineering Organization.
Manages budgets and forecasts manpower obligations/needs.
Ensures effective staffing of all programs with Software Engineering scope.
Communicates within and outside own function to explain and gains cooperation on policies and practices.
Makes substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.
Plans and establishes goals and objectives for Software Engineering with direct impact on the short-term and long-term operational results.
Leads, directs, coaches, and reviews the work of software engineering personnel to accomplish near-term and long-term operational plans and results.
Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for Software Engineering.
Works under consultative direction against annual goals and objectives to manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization.
Maintains outstanding communication with higher management and with the employees in the organization.
Meets all programmatic and administrative suspenses.
Collaborate with other business areas to execute programs and business development.
Potential travel up to 25% of the time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline with minimum 12 years or a graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

years of experience in hands-on Software Engineering Development for DoD Programs.
10
years of experience in leading/managing/tracking projects, proposals, processes, and employees.
10
years of experience in leading teams for successful completion of project objectives within stringent technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
10
years of experience in earned value management, metrics development and tracking, and basis of estimates.
5
years of functional management experience of 25
engineers.
Active DoD SECRET clearance.

Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Experience in GPS / PNT technology, Anti-Jam, Anti-Spoof, GPS-denied/degraded, Alternative/Supplemental/Cooperative Navigation technology.
Experience in RF signal processing, GPS receiver design, ASIC and FPGA design.
Experience with Agile development, DevOps, SecDevOps.
Experience as a Functional Manager of 50
engineers.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $132K - $245K.
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

Salary:
$62 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
